Nancy B. Rapoport

Nancy B. Rapoport is a UNLV Distinguished Professor, the Garman Turner Gordon Professor of Law at the William S. Boyd School of Law, and an Affiliate Professor of Business Law and Ethics in the Lee Business School at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She earned her B.A., summa cum laude, from Rice University and her J.D. from Stanford Law School. Professor Rapoport's legal career includes clerking for the Honorable Joseph T. Sneed III on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and practicing bankruptcy law with Morrison & Foerster in San Francisco.

A respected authority in her field, Professor Rapoport has contributed her expertise to various platforms, including an appearance in the Academy Award®-nominated documentary, "Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room" (2005).

Beyond her academic pursuits, Professor Rapoport is an accomplished competitive ballroom dancer. She competes pro-am in American Rhythm and American Smooth styles, with notable achievements including winning the 2014 national U.S. Open Pro/Am Rising Star American Smooth Competition B Division and placing 2nd in the 2017 "C" Open to the World Pro/Am American Style 9-Dance Championship.

Professor Rapoport's passion for ballroom dancing extends beyond competition. She views it as a vital component of her physical and mental well-being, often drawing parallels between the challenges of mastering dance and the learning process in academia. This unique perspective enhances her approach to education and mentorship, allowing her to empathize with and motivate her students more effectively.
